The journey to total creative optimization.

Why Creativity?

Why Creativity?

“Today, the creative economy is estimated to be worth $985 billion. G20 Insights predicts that the creative economy could account for 10% of global GDP by 2030, and Deloitte believes we will see up to 40% growth in creative sectors by 2030.” (Forbes 2023)

To remain competitive in the marketplace, businesses and individuals need to leverage their creativity to innovate solutions, products, and services.

Creativity is no longer viewed simplistically as a left-brain, right-brain distinction, or that it comes “out of nowhere”. Creativity is a feeling, a process, and then an action of overcoming vulnerability with bravery.

If you’re a creative athlete, what is your Olympic game? The ability to battle with “negative capability”. Negative capability is the ability and determination to stay in a space of product or personal doubt, where the answers are unknown, there are little resources, there is even less time, and where the questions are hard and no AI bot or colleague has the answer. You must find it. You must uncover it. The discomfort of “not knowing” flies in the face of human ego and confidence. But if, in this game, you are willing to chase down ideas, reconfigure problems, and have the mental resiliance to withstand all the setbacks, - you will find a path that puts you on the road to success. Successful creatives know that this hard process is what eventually leads to a net positive result. Very rarely will you have a perfectly amicable creative experience, even if it’s just you in the room.

Understanding creative impulse is but one piece of the puzzle. Understanding how you best travel through that impulse is another. Possibly being required to weave your creativity into a larger team is yet a third. As an individual, you have to commit to being able to withstand a cycle that includes both excitement and despair.
